Introduction
- The Kuala Pilah Public Health and Licensing Division are responsible for coordinating and maintaining business license applications operating within the Kuala Pilah District Council area. This Division also responsible for the monitoring of business activities, especially for the sale of food and beverage to be in line with the provisions of the foos Act 1983 and The Food Regulations 1985.
- This Division also oversees solid waste management, grass cutting, city monitoring and cleaning supervision conducted by Southern Waste Management Sdn. Bhd. through centralized privatization from 1 January 2013. From 2002, the Council through the Public Health and Licensing Division MDKP has set up a Vector Unit to carry out control works such as Aedes Study, Breeding Area Cleansing and Fogging spray to control the outbreak of the disease through vector innards. In general, most of the Local Government Act 1976 Act 171 and By-Law adopted by Kuala Pilah District Council.
Objective
- To regulate and evaluate the public health status of the people living within the Kuala Pilah District Council operating area so that they can live in a comfortable and peaceful environment. Ensuring the level of cleanliness of the city and public places in under control.
- Preventing infections disease whether food borne and waste borne diseases or vector-borne illnesses.
- Controlling and upgrading the quality of food hygiene from the supply stage to the sales stage.
- Determine all types of business that operate within the Kuala Pilah District Council area to be licensed and always comply with the prescribed laws.
- Creating awareness amongst residents within the Kuala Pilah District Council operating area that it is important to maintain the health and hygiene aspects of the surrounding environment.
- Implement Act and By-Law related to Public Health and Licensing of Kuala Pilah District Council.
Division Function
- Process all applications for business licenses that need to be licensed under the Local Government Act 1976 as well as By-Laws which are readily available by Kuala Pilah District Council.
- Maintain and keep records of the issuance of issued licenses.
- Manage the process of privision of stalls or business establishments and hawkers on the basis of the privisions of the Act under the Local Government Act 1976 as well as the Kuala Pilah District Council Hawkers By-Laws.
- Maintain and license all public or private markets covering the enforcement of the Kuala Pilah District Councils By-Laws.
- Controlling the development anf licensing of flea markets, weekly, night and other related areas throughout Kuala Pilah District Council operations.
- Licensing business premises, food and beverage factories and also licensing premises conducting any trade, business, industrial and other professions available within the Kuala Pilah District Council operation area.
- To control and license canteens located in factories, schools and public and private higher education centers.
- Controlling and conducting monitoring work in Food Quality Control activities.
- Contagious disease control either foodborne or waste or vector-borne.
- Control of nuisance aising from abandoned animals such as cattle, buffaloes, goats and chickens and ducks.
- Conduct supervisory and monitoring work on Southern Waste Management Sdn. Bhd. which has been responsible for managing solid waste collection, drainage, grass cutting, cleaning of public places.
- To carry out enforcement of the Law in accordance with the Local Government Act 1976 and other By-Laws adopted by the Kuala Pilah District Council.
